Methodology, with limits
A clear way to check solar information and quotes.
Verification at SolarKhoj means explaining the information to review, showing what is operational today and leaving final authority with the homeowner, installer and relevant government or utility source.
Definition
What verification means here
SolarKhoj does not use a badge or score to turn a limited checklist into a promise. We distinguish source review, user education and any future manual installer review. A check can reduce uncertainty, but it cannot guarantee future workmanship, service quality or project outcomes.
SolarKhoj is independent. It is not a government website or scheme portal, and it does not promise an installation, subsidy approval, generation or savings outcome.
Operational today
What the current site does
Source and publication review
TodayCalculator records carry source, date and publication status, and the subsidy guide cites each official document with the date it was checked. Unknown values stay unknown instead of becoming a confident-looking number.
Transparent estimates
TodayThe calculator shows a starting system size, estimated generation, indicative cost range and confidence where the available inputs support them.
User-led quote education
TodaySolarKhoj explains the questions and documents a homeowner can ask for before accepting an installer quotation, in the quotation guide and the installer checklist.
Clear handoff
TodayA visitor can review the message in the browser before choosing to open WhatsApp. The site does not silently submit a lead.
Planned / may include
What a future review process may check
Installer information review
PlannedWhere an operational review is introduced, it may include business identity, service area, applicable registration or empanelment relevance and public information.
Quote-level review
PlannedA future manual process may compare equipment, scope, approvals, warranties, payment milestones and exclusions against the homeowner's needs.
Documentation checks
PlannedFuture work may review documents supplied by an installer, while keeping the final decision with the homeowner and relevant authorities.
For your quote
Quote-level questions worth asking
Compare the information in writing before you compare a price. Do not rely on a brand name, a verbal promise or a percentage shown without its assumptions.
- 01
System and equipment
Capacity, modules, inverter, structure, cables and protection should be identifiable.
- 02
Installation and approvals
The quote should say what installation work is included and who handles applicable utility steps.
- 03
Money and timeline
Payment milestones, taxes, exclusions and expected timing should be written plainly. If you borrow, the loan terms need the same care.
- 04
Warranty and support
Separate product and workmanship coverage, response contacts and exclusions should be easy to find; the handover guide lists what to keep.
What homeowners should still confirm
Ask for the model numbers
A brand name alone is not enough to compare a module or inverter. Ask for the exact model and quantity, and the equipment evidence that goes with it.
Read the scope line by line
Clarify what is included for structure, wiring, protection, approvals, testing and cleanup.
Confirm terms in writing
Keep written warranty, payment, timeline and after-sales terms before accepting an offer, and know what the handover pack should contain.
Verify with the right authority
Scheme eligibility, utility approvals and electricity-connection requirements come from the relevant official authority.
Use the checklist for your next conversation
The detailed checklist helps you spot missing information. It does not declare a vendor safe or unsafe.
